Carb balancing
Hey all,
How often do you need to balance your carbs? Should it be in routine service i.e once a month checks or just a yearly matter?
main reason for asking, is should i bother purchasing a balancer or would i only use it the once?
thanks for your time
mat

Unless you want to spend money on a tool you may use once a year or every other year, save it and make your own.
Here's the one I made:

1/4" OD clear line (I think) with basketball needles inline to restrict flow and filled with transmission fluid...good weight and colored so I could see it. The key to this working is having absolutely NO vacuum leaks in the tool or at the carb connection.
Worked perfectly.

My system (one that is a copy from hot rodders and bike builders for over 30 years) works EXACTLY like a $130 unit in both principle and function and it only costs $10, maximum.
PLEASE tell me why it won't work. Fluid dynamics says it will and does.
Okay first of all I didn't say ot wouldn't work I said to get the right tool for the job. Yours works nothing like mine. I have no fluid in mine and its about 1/16th the size of yours. Yes it will and im sure it does work but im sure your carbs arnt exact either. Close enough to call it good and the bike runs well im sure. But mine are exact and I work in a motorcycle shop and I was taught to use the right tool for the job. Nothing against you or your work just not exact enough for me.

This one is working on the exact same principle...and is $80 more expensive.
