Just bought this f2 with 18k miles and brought it over to show my dad. Parked in front of his garage (backed the bike in) started it and he gave it a rev. Then I start it like 20min later and let it idle for maybe 5minutes at the very very most and leave. He said his carbon monoxide detector in the garage was going off for hours.
The bike seems to run ok. I have to crack the throttle a hair at each startup and it has a slight studder or hesitation at 4k rpm, but other than that it's all smooth. Bike has a slip on Delkevic carbon exhaust, but that is it as far as I know.

 

Sounds like the detector was working. All gasoline engines will give off carbon monoxide.

Not really sure what your question is though. if your asking if this is unusual, I'd say no. Any vehicle backed into a garage that has a carbon monoxide dector in it and left running will set it off.

No no no. It wasn't IN the garage, it was backed up to the garage, but still outside. My dad starts his bike up in the garage and backs it out and never had anything go off.
I had my f4i and my ninja in the garage started then I taken off, same with my brothers f2 and my other brothers ex250. None of them except my f2 have ever set off the detector and those have been IN the garage.
How can I make sure mine is running correctly?
