I just bought a 1999 cbr 600 f4 as a project bike,currently I ride a 954 RR and I've been riding fuel injected bikes for awhile now, the 600 is a theft recovery bike and it had the ignition switch broken, so I bought a lock set from ebay that it seems to work fine because the dash on the bike lights up and the motor turns but it does not start. It feels like there is no spark on the plugs, so my next step is to put new spark plugs and new gas on the system, but I am more concern about the posibility of something else getting a short from the thefts trying to start it? The bike was in excelent shape before getting stolen and as far as I know it should not be a big deal to start a carburated bike. Could anythig else be damaged? the bike was found a week after getting stolen and it was missing a mirror, the hornand a side fairing and the lock was broken only. Any other suggestions?
