bike won't start BUT push start OK!
Guys, I had the bike for about 8 months now. Last couples of days, when I started the bike allI heard was a click. Then I push start it, it was fine. Within the same day, nothing would happened (started ok). Then the next day same thing would happened, I push started it again but won't start I guess because I needed to open the choke. Anyway, put it back to Neutral, open the Chokeand push the start button and the starter engaged, somehow with the pushing action made the starter engaged to the engine. Any help would be appearciated, thanks
Could be several things, your battery or your starter motor. If your battery is cactus, then what residule charge there is can push the starter dog into the action, but because the battery is also sending power to the plugs, sort of kills of any risidule power and can leave the dog engaged, especially if your trying to start in gear with just the clutch pulled. Same story if its just the starter, if its RS, it either won't fully engage or disengage.
My bet though is the battery, have it checked at a bike shop, the ones they use at auto places don't like bike batteries & will give a false reading. Clutching your bike on the odd occassion is ok, but having to do it on a daily basis is pushing the friendship (good pun eh) to far, at the very least you will end up with a badly out of tune bike. I would also have your reg checked at the same time.

Could be the battery as stated but could be the regulator/rectifier also. If the battery is CACTUS (never heard before but i like it!! haha) it wont have the necessary power to turn all the engine parts it needs, holding the clutch in relieves some of the strain and sometimes does give it a hand to start. However if your hearing a click it could be the rectifier. These are situated on the right side of the bike as your sat on it, under the rear fairings bolted to the frame with a connector coming from the front side. They will run if jumped or bumped or whatever people wanna call it nowadays but when it gets too hot it stays open and your bike will cut out. They're sealed units so you will need a new one. New i paid £70 gbp but you can get them cheaper from the net, which i've foundout since. Check the battery first tho as its a cheaper option.
