He said it was someones old race bike and if i grandma it, it will run like **** cause it wants to accelerate hard all the time.but also dont race it. Old race horse

Uh, WUT?? Compression numbers for your bike is only 185-191psi.

Your "mechanic" says so and this means what exactly? If you get into the habit of taking a shop's word as gospel, I see alot of rides in your future and I dont mean the good kind.

Its cool if you dont wrench on your own bike. But(especially with an older bike), I would still get a manual and educate yourself as much as possible. Then when something fails thats outside your reach, you have a pretty good sense of what caused it and what repair would entail when you take it somewhere.
