93 900RR Clicking
Drove to work today on it and it did fine as usual. Went out tonight to get some food and noticed my headlights were kind of pulsating...like getting brighter then dimmer...Got back to work and cut it off and tried to start it back up, sounded like it was struggling a little to crank but did. It sat for about 5 hours in a climate controlled room until I got off and it wouldnt turn over at all...Headlights, gauges, and everything come on fine, just started clicking when trying to start it...Has a 1 month old brand new battery. Battery has 12volts and theres 12volts at the main starter relay. But it just steadily clicks while trying to turn it over. Relay gone or something else???
I was able to push it off to start it and it did fine...just wont start by button start.

Possibly the regulator/rectifier has gone, or you have a loose connection.
Insufficient power to the battery = clicking from the starter relay. There's enough power to turn on the lights but not enough to start the motor on the starter motor but it will go if you push start it......
I'd check your Voltage at 3000RPM, and if it's less than 13.5V at the battery, you may need a new reg/rec.
The symptoms are very familiar......................

The bike battery says right at 12volts before cranking, during cranking it drops to like point something...hooked jumper cables up to a car that wasnt crunk and to my bike battery and the bike started right up fine. Bad battery or what?
