Side stand v.s. Main stand?
I have been reading through the service manual for my 600f and I am confused on how to check the oil properly. The manual calls for the bike to be ran up to operating temp, then shut off and placed on the main stand. Is the main stand the same thing as the side stand / kick stand?
Do you guys check your oil with the bike on the side/kick stand or while its balanced upright?

Main stands (unfortunately), have become options in recent years.
It tucks up into the belly. It is NOT the kickstand, being refered to.
To properly check the oil, the bike should be standing up straight
(not leaned over on the kickstand). Unfortunately, that means
buying a rear-stand if you don't have a main-stand. Assuming you want
to do the routine maintenance and checks, yourself.
Hope this helps, Ern
