Default 12 volt accessory plug help

Any advice on how/where to hook into 12-volt power temporarily (e.g., to use my tire pump) in my '98 F3? It was so easy on my last bike, as it had a couple of leads sitting there for this purpose. Any suggestions are much appreciated. Thanks!!

First you should have a fuse.

Run the lead from both battery terminals - fuse the power side.

To make it even more slick, put a relay on the power line, with it being switched by the headlight. Then the accessory lead will only work with the bike turned on.

woot.

If this is a one off project, and you want to be somewhat safe. Disconenct the battery from the bike - leave it in the bike is fine - put gator clips on the wires dangling from the accessory plug - connect it right to the battery.
