How are you testing it to have 144bhp? Where is the smoke coming from?

Angry cbr got no power

it was tested on the dyno and it is smoking from the exhaust.the bike has a power commander, quickshifter and akrapovic can all fitted by the dealer when new.it has 500miles on the clock and it was getting the quickshifter activated and engine tuned due to the add on's.the dealer wouldn't activate the shifter on the advice of honda uk until the torque converter + gear box bed in,these are the reasons it was at the tuners.i live in glasgow and got the bike for a dealer in london how we have got a number of bikes before. the dealer when we informed of the problem ask us to take it to our local honda dealer which is victor devine honda delers, the refused point blank to look at it.

what color is the smoke?

If its blue, then its more than likely oil consumption. If its black, its running way too rich.

whats your oil level at? If it is overfilled, it will purge into the intake. If this ever happened, it could have soaked your air filters, which could now be causing a rich condition.

seeing as it only has 500 miles on it, the engine is probably not completely broke in yet. the rings may still seating and you are probably still seeing blowby. Or, your rings didnt seat at all and glazed over. This can happen with a harsh break in, also with an oil change to synthetic too soon. They will eventually seat, but it may take longer. A lot of people will disagree, but it does and can happen.

I dont know what hp figures your looking to get. But I believe that bike in stock form runs about 145-150. So in reality, your not that far off. With your current items, I would expect to see it in the high 140's to low 150's.

Im sure the issue you think your bike should be covered under the warranty to put down a certain amount of power and the dealer should look into it. The reality is, the bike is running, its not uncommon for a new bike to smoke some, and the hp figures are close to where they should be for a stock bike. You can't expect them to stand by hp figures that magazines publish, especially since its been modded. There is no way for anyone to tell what the bike put down before the mods. Of course, if the bike is smoking a lot, then there is no reason they shouldnt at least look at it for you.

I would do a compression test to make sure your compression is good across all cylinders.

I would also take off the power commander, and run it again to see what the figures are. Its possible the tune is just not correct. If you are just using downloaded maps, that could be your issue.

Default cbr no power

justasquid thank few your comments.the bike was tested by a tunning company and was the 3rd blade tuned that day the other 2 were both 166bhp.i just thought i would try and fine if anyone else had the same problems.the smoke is blue but very bad and was a worry.for these reasons i contacted the dealer and will swapped it for a new bike.my bike has 500mls and 8mths old they will swap all mods on monday for £900.
