Did you ever get this resolved? My 01 f4i is experiencing the exact same symptoms and I've seen that others have it as well .... but the threads always stop short of explaining how it was fixed.

One more symptom to add ... even if I keep it running by holding the start button, it'll shut off again when I use the turn signal.

Please help!!!

 

I'd like to know if you guys found the solution to this problem. I have had this problem twice now, the first time, earlier this year, it cleared up on it's own. Both times started a week after my bike got rained on and after I used my bright headlight.

This most recent problem started happening after I got back from bike week Daytona 2012. We got caught in rain on Sunday and we went riding all week and I had 0 problems until the next week when I was riding to class with my bright headlight on just to see if it would happen again. Basically I can start the bike and ride with my headlight fuse taken out of the bike but the front blinkers won't blink and for some reason if I use the right blinker it shuts the fuel pump off every time the blinker lights up.

I have looked in a lot of places and seen a few ideas to try which I will look at over the next few days but I wanted to post this in case someone had the solution because it sounds exactly like my problem.
