I just wanted to chime in, too, about some of the guys posting what seems to be negative. It is not an attack against YOU as a person, but an attackagainst your actions. Nobody here wants you to get hurt. You have to have the right gear; you can't just exclaim you are never getting hit or going down! Most accidents happen to people who have been riding for less than a year...the next category is people who have been riding 2-3 years. Never assume you have been riding long enough to tempt fate. Get a jacket on, even if it is a regular leather jacket (better than nothing), wear you "heavy" helmet, put some gloves on, have fun, and be safe!

Be careful, man. These guys are all experienced riders. They all post here all the time, and they've seen lots of stuff. I've been riding for a little less than a year, and I've had some scares myself.
The biggest thing, as everyone is saying, is buy good gear and NEVER EVER EVER EVER, and i mean EVER go without it. And full coverage insurance is good if you can afford it.
