I got my bike last friday, now have 815 miles on it. I Just changed the oil last night, 4 quarts and a filter cost me about $32. When i got the bike the sales man said the first service was $90 plus material (ie: oil and filter) and as long as you keep your reciepts your straight.

i called the dealer and they want $150 bucks for the 600 mile service, and they have a 3 week wait! thats crazy. i asked if i did it on my own if it voided the warranty, and he said no, not as long as you keep your receipts. and that i have to use honda oil and filter.

You guys are telling me by changing the oil in the bike, that I void the warranty. You guys need to listen to what you are saying. They are not trying to keep people from performing maintenance, they are just trying to keep you from doing some of the more serious & more involved work on the bike.
I think if you change your oil & check the fluids yourself, you will be just fine....
Next thing you know, the warranty will be void for maintenance on the chain -- because going to the dealer every ~500 miles makes sense....
