Default what does the dealer do at the 600 mile service?

my bike has 580 miles and im wondering what the dealer does at the 600 mile service? is this something i can do? does not taking it to the dealer void the warranty? how much does a dealer typically charge for this service? What is done besides the oil change?

checks fluids, change oil, and looks over the bike...not much is done here also it should be in your manual if you have it or the printout sheet they give you at purchase to show you how much money you would save vs doing the services through them with the package deal or comming in each time and paying the premium.

does this effect the warranty at all if i do this myself? so no adjustments are done other than oil change and checking things over?

its just checking fluids and changing oil and stuff, if i were u i would just check fluids check and maybe adjust the chain and maybe the clutch lever cause i had to adjust mine after the first 1000 i think but its all really easy so i would just do it yourself

nothing you can't easily do with just the owners manual.

Better check to make sure it doesn't affect the warranty, I thought it did. Not 100% sure though.

Let me put to you this way how they said it to me...Your warranty is void if anyone other than a honda certified person works and performs service on you bike...here is the catch as long as your bike still works and you can provide receipts of this you are coverd but if you do it your self and something happens they wont shell out money because you not being a certified honda repair man/technician you void your warranty. However they have seen cases in which the rider still got things fixed now if they said they had other people working on their bike thats a different story...So the service at 600 is a breeze

It's been 5 years since I had the 600 mile service on my F4i, but I don't remember it being bank-breaking. Give them a call, they should be able to tell you quickly.

I got my bike last friday, now have 815 miles on it. I Just changed the oil last night, 4 quarts and a filter cost me about $32. When i got the bike the sales man said the first service was $90 plus material (ie: oil and filter) and as long as you keep your reciepts your straight.
