600 mile first service
would it be a bad idea to take my bike in for the 600 mile service at 500. It's an hour to my dealership and my 96 f3 is broke down and i would like to haul them both down at the same time. I really want to get my old one running so my girlfriend will have something to ride, but it would be a pain in the butt to haul one down then turn around and haul my rr down a week later.
little advice would be nice
thanks

RE: 600 mile first service
600 mile service is just an oil change.....nothing else!!! The full lube and chain and everything else service is much better off being done between 3 and 4k when the bike is pretty much broken in and used to your type of riding. If you wanna get ripped off and ask them to do a 600 mile "service" for peace of mind then be my guest as all they're gonna do is an oil change and maybe tighten a few bolts on the fairings that you could do in a matter of 2 minutes! Then they're gonna take your money for a "1 K service" that really isn't neccessary until about 3 or 4K....It's up to you how you wanna throw your money away

RE: 600 mile first service
The service is only oil and filter a chain lube and a wash so do it your self and safe some money. There are bigger services to follow that you will need to see the dealers about. But for 1000km service just do it yourself unless it is for free. An oil change is preventative maintance the bike loves to get its oil changed so the sooner you do them the better it is for the bike, you don’t need to do them on the correct mileage, sooner is OK.
