What did you do to your F4i today?
I was thinking the exact same thing while executing that task...
Cleaned and waxed it, inspected tires, changed clutch lever from shorty CNC to stock, ran in to trouble trying to change the brake lever back to stock so now it has mismatched levers which I will address in another thread. Rode it to work and took pictures of it.
Spent the afternoon trying to fine tune the Ohlins shock preload and spring rate into a fashion that works for both riding solo and with a passenger. The bike is primarily for riding 2-up and is the best 2-up bike I have ever ridden, but it was beating me up pretty good when riding alone so I set ended up changing spring rates and initial collar preload which has helped a bunch with what I deem the best compromise I can get, but ultimately I need to pull the shock and change the valving as it is way over damped on the compression circuit.
did you ever get it dialed into so that it feels exactly correct? I have adjusted it probably 5+ times now and it always feel to loose or to tight (usually to tight). The problem is how freaking difficult it is to get in there..
Plus once the engine is warmed up.. you don't wanna get your hand in there to adjust. Luckily I have a think rubber type auto work glove.. The rubber allow me to get actually spin the bolt (which I wouldn't be able to do w/ my fingers). Maybe I have to start going by 1/4 turns.. how frustrating..

Yes, I removed the timing inspection cover, put a socket on the bolt and turned the engine by hand while screwing in the CCT Bolt with the other hand until I could feel the chain undulating against the internal chain guide. Backed it out 1/4 turn and locked it into place with the jam nut.

use the heat they told me and bend it back.
