Default Using a CCT that is missing the key??

Well i bought one like 4 months ago and never put it in. I take it out of my drawer to remember to put it on and someone just has to pick it up and pull te key out and make the shaft come out. Is this still usable and if so do i have to get that thing to move back in then put it on?

You can use a small screwdriver (through the hole that the key goes in) to turn it back in...but you'll still need the key or something similar to retain it for installation.
