Tiny Mod: Rear Sprocket +1

The most common mod for gearing is -1/+2. Why not go +2 in the rear, so you're a front sprocket away from the great set up? When you like it, you will want more...

The 108 link chain will work for all of these combos.

+1 this is what i did, then i ordered a speedodrd because your speedometer is going to be off a good amount.
you could say you lose 500 rpm's example my 4krpm is now 45mph instead of 50mph. you will be going slower than it appears.
the speedodrd is easy to use, the only hard part is getting your hand in the bike, in front of the shock, to plug it in
ehh i forgot what this thread was about.. i think i get like 48 or something stupid.. will confirm if its not raining tommorow when i take the bike
i'll put interstate miles on it, with a heavy throttle

I appreciate your advice....and I know I'll want more.... But then, I'll want another bike...

For now, just wanting to keep it stock/mild. So I can justify gas savings vs all the money I spend on it & gear.

P.S: Please refer Post # 10.
And I think, I'm just going to stay with STOCK! Cuz it seems nobody thinks +1 in rear does "anything at all". (I didn't want any radical change anyway).

just wanted to follow up, i got 41 mpg with very little city driving i think i got stopped at lights maybe only 5 times.
i grabbed alot of throttle most of the time, had to pass alot of people, the way back was empty roads hitting around 145 multiple times, which is super easy to do with -1/+2.

If you are concerned about fuel economy, do not mess with the gears. Your bike is plenty fast for a beginner, so no reason to upgrade on that front.

I am also a beginner and running -1/+2 as the PO thought the bike was too slow as he just got rid of a hayabusa. He told me the bike is wheelie happy, although I haven't had a problem. One of the benefits of being older and having kids, I tend to be less stupid and more cautious.

I went with stock sizes. Just ordered yesterday. In a few more months (spring time) if I feel like, I might go +2 in the back then, if I'm ready for it. During winter I'll probably ride a little less anyway.
