Default Rear sprocket ?'s

Ok, I ordered a new D.I.D. x-ring chain and sprocket set this past weekend(still waiting for it, why oh why is the weather so nice when I cant ride!!!!) Now I opted for the stock set up 17 front 42 rear. The main reason I opted for stock gear ratio is I want better fuel economy, so will my MPG's go up? Now my bike is currently set up 17 front and 44 rear. I know I will lose a lil giddy up and my top end will increase a few MPH's right?

Marginally depending on and in direct proportion to your twist of the wrist

I just sprung for 2 Supersprox myself a 42 stock for one and a 44 for the other

Yea the "twist of the wrist" as you so eloquently said is a huge factor. And personally I enjoy the rush, sometimes a lil too much lol. But the main thing is the MPG's are real important. If I am generally good i was getting 29-33 mpg's and im hoping to get better with 42's. I also have jetted carbs for the Kerker exhaust, so I know thats part of the low MPG's.

Ok, i got the new sprockets and chain on today, and WOW!!!! I have never felt the bike so smooth!!! The pick up is a lil slower than it used to be now that i have 42's instead of 44's, but it feels soo great!! Here are some pics for your enjoyment.

Glad you like it! I went back to stock sprockets about 6 months ago and I like it better as well. I ride highway mostly to work each day and get about 38-39 mpg. Im like you- all about gas mileage!
