Default Tail light out - not working

So I unplugged all the lights for a trackday and upon return installed some new LED turn signals. I was curious so I twisted both the front turn signal and running light wires together and checked it on the turn signal...low and behold both running light and turn signal worked fine, but it also makes the rear signals light up, and they turn off while the signal is flashing...which would have been fine by me.

After that I checked the brake light and noticed the tail light wasn't working (running light), so I cut the running light wires going to the front signals and still nothing. To be honest I don't remember the tail light coming on even before I wired up the new turn signals.

Bulbs are fine, fuses are fine, so only thing left really is the relay I'm guessing?

Here's the weird part. The brake/tail light plug is getting power just fine. It shares the constant with the license plate light, and the other wire for the brake light/switch gets power when I hit the brake. Still, the bulb light does not come on unless I'm hitting the brake.

It looks like one of the filaments on one of the bulbs is broken but the other bulb looks fine. Also noticed there's like 3 ways to plug the white connector plug into the black one. Tried many different combinations with bulbs and connectors and still a no-go.

Eliminate the guess work and use a voltmeter

I did. 12v at both + leads at both plugs. It must be the bulbs. I took them out for the track and put them in my sunglasses case and back into my panniers for the ride home..might have rattled them. If new bulbs doesn't fix the problem then there is some satan type **** going on here.

Yep, it was both bulbs. Didn't think there was a chance both blew on the same day especially when one looked good.
