I was getting on it pretty good today on a back road in town and missed 3rd gear....i pulled the clutch in again and pulled up into third and it clunked pretty loud and lurched foward. Ive been riding in for a few hours tonight and everything seems fine, but i just wanted to know if could do much damage by accidently doing this????

Am i supposed to be changing the fluids in the trans.???? Im a newb when it comes to maitenance, so i need some help!!

 

This happens to me when I shift down into first at a higher RPM (LOUD knock as I shift) when Im about to go up on one wheel. When I miss a gear I always give it a little gas as I reclick it into gear to compensate for the RPM dropping after the miss. I dont think you damaged anything by missing a gear once and a while (it happens to everyone once or twice!) Follow the shop manual when it comes to servcing the bike, It tells you everything you might or will need to know!

 

ya you're fine don't worry about it... and no you don't have transmission oil so don't worry about that either.
