Default Steel braided brake line lifespan

I bought my bike with steel braided lines already installed and wasn't sure if there was a point at which they should be replaced.

Any insight would be appreciated.

The rubber inside degrades just like normal lines. They are normal lines, just with metal over them so they can't expand. I'd replace them after about 10yrs myself.
