use the bit for which the spools are designed. i bought myself 8mm rumble's(pro-bolt), i'm waiting for them. i would think that ye closer to the rear axle,ye better. maybe even near the axle.. higher?

be careful where you install the spools. in general, people will weld a piece of metal to tap into, on the bottom of the S/A for clearance issues w/ the exhaust.

this is the best way like he said. I drilled n tapped into the swingarm, along the center line just b4c the weld. Make sure you have it far enough back so you have clearance for the akle to clear when you remove the rear wheel.

I took my spool bolt to a industrail supply and told em I needed a dril bit n tap for it. tap is a 8mm tho.
