Rear suspension settings too soft?
So I was playing around this weekend and adjusted both my compression and rebound about 1/4 turn harder on both. It was like impossible to steer at low speeds, so I thought I put it back down 1/4" softer. But today driving to work, it seems like I'm bottoming out the front, like if I stop too fast with the front brake it scuffs I assume the front wheel fairing? So I guess I need to put it back harder some, but I kinda like the softness now for the bad city streets. Can I just adjust the front suspension compression to compensate? Or am I going to be now throwing the whole think out of whack? I thought I read people mainly adjust the rear settings and leave the front alone? I didn't think I made any huge adjustments, but I can REALLY feel the difference. I can rock it back and forth on the shocks pretty easily like a teeter totter, not really that much, but you get the idea
I weigh 200 lbs, need to change the preload i assume to something around 5 or 6... Does preload affect the tension of the spring, i.e. like a stronger spring if you change the preload?

yea dude you definetly need to go up on the preload, front and rear. preload is to set the sag hieght for your weight. this isnt a couch, its a crotch rocket. not gonna be the best ride on any rough at all. only smooth when its smooth.
thanks, I'll try and get my buddy with an R1 at work to help me adjust it, never done preload... done car suspensions with spanner wrenches, but always helps to have an experienced eye.
