Default Odd problems... Bet you can't figure it out!!!

Did full tune, chain, sprockets, took it out for a spin. Rode if for bout hour/half, and this is on the way home, cruising 80, steady.. Out of nowhere bike stalls, dies. The motor just shut off like I hit the kill switch. Pulled over tried starting it three times and in the fourth it started. Got it home, messed with a bit, checked batt terminals, the pos was loose. Tighten them. After a hour sittin I went to take it to storage. It died three times, same ****. Basically limping it home, it was dark, I flipped on blinker an it acted weird, same with high/low beam. Lights were dim. Anyway got it stored. Came back a few days later to mess with it. Tried to start it and it would turn over. Just crank. After about the fourth time it turned over. Anyway it ran then died. Did this process a few times. Noticed my fuel pump would prime sometimes and sometimes not. I checked relays, can't really tell if one is bad or not. Anyway it started again and I let idle for 2o minutes and then it just died. And went to start it, batt was dead?? Jump the batt, it started right up. Decided to check the terminals again this time in light, they looked pretty corroded, took wire brush, shiny now! After this the bike starts up and idles fine, everytime!! Havnt ride it yet due to rain, but does this sound like something a bad battery would do? I really hope it is. Or you think the rectifier? Stator? I did notice that when i put new chain/sprokets on, all that lube they put on the chain covered my stand switch up pretty good, havnt got around to cleaning that up either, could that be an issue? dirty contacts? Any help would be appreciated!! Thanks! Be safe!!

Test your charging system... Sounds like a bad r/r and/or stator.

There are MANY threads here on how to do so. It's a common problem.
Do you have a service manual? It's all in there too.

What makes you think that we CAN"T figure it out?

You can find downloadable versions out there. Search the F4i section for a link.

Pages here usually get plenty of views and responses, even without tricky headers. But to each their own... At least it's not another oil thread!
