i got an 01 f4i with a strange problem.

While riding the high beam and red light next to it comes on. The red light doesnt blink just comes on then the bike shuts off.

yesterday, i was riding with the high beams on and 2 mins later the bike shuts off.

I was told maybe the battery was low but i was thikning it might be an electrical problem.

Any ideas?

 

Does the bike start right back up after it dies, or does it not want to crank? Need more info. Also check voltage at the battery while the bike is on the stand, revving to about 2500 or so. Post results.

 

at first it would take about a min for it to start back up. But now it starts right back up after it shuts off.

 

The red light should be low Oil Pressure. Check your oil make sure its full. It's the little window on the right side of the bike on the crank case. DO NOT RIDE WITH LOW OIL!
