IS THIS NORMAL???

hey guys is this normal for a fuel pump to have that meash(gold looking stuff) there like that its for an f4i 02
i just never had any exp. with fuel pump... thank all

Yeah, mine had that. I never had the pump out though but I could always see it down in there. Looked like a dishwashing scouring pad shoved in there.
