Dunno what kinda bike you have but the manual for the 07 600RR says it's not "overheating" until its over 251*F. 224 sounds normal to me if sitting still, it should cool down when you're riding though. Did the fans kick in?

use centigrade. it's much easier to read. 100* is hot, 80* is normal.

When I sit in traffic, I see 220 and then it drops down to200 whenI start riding. When riding and the ambient temp is below 60 degrees, my op temp is around 180.

the RR and most hondas' can surpass more than 100oC easy. 220oF is about 105oF. which for a city ride on RR seems normal. 80oC is about 176oF, even on a cool day(60oF) I cant reach that on my f4i while going @100mhp.
Something is way off and I dont see how changing it to celsius would help you read any of the bikes info.

it is normal, on any hot day (city riding) it gets over 220.
in a post a few weeks agao someone mentioned using "Maxima Oil Cool-Aide", i guess it does help the bike run cooler
