Default New tail lights

Hi, I just recently picked up an '04 CBR600F4i and was looking at it and wondering if it is possible to use a taillight from another motorcycle. I know I would have to make a custom tail, but if I were to take say a ZX6R tail and molded it to the CBR subframe, would I be able to use a ZX6R taillight too? I didn't know if the wiring harnesses are different or something. I'm trying to have a totally unique bike that nobody else could possibly have

I'd recomend getting schematics from both taillights and checking for common power and ground or wire the zx6r tail for the f4i based off the schematic.

As long as you connect the wires to the correct spot you could install the lights from a '64 Mustang. You will probably have to make your own connectors - even the 954 (i think its a 954) light I used had different plugs.

I decided that the 600rr has the best looking lights so I'm going to put on an '04 rr tail and use the rr light. how did you do the connectors?

on an unrelated note, which tail/taillight does everyone think looks the best. I thought it was the zx6r, but it kinda looks a little goofy now that I look at it

I cut the connector off the taillight and used a punch down tool (for phone/networking) to press the wires into the stock taillight harness then used some electrical tape to hold it together. It is only 3 wires: 12v positive for tail, 12v positive for stop and a ground.

As far as which light I like best - the one I have. It just flows with the tail of the bike and looks clean.

Alright, thanks for the help. That looks real good and seems to be not too difficult

You can make anything work with enough effort. Brake lights are pretty simple when it comes to wiring, unless they're LED and use a specific voltage regulator or something. Should be easy to figure out.
