Well, it turns out the electrical system is fried. Wires are bad everywhere and the ecu is bad. The voltage regulator is most likely bad too. I tried turning it on and I wasn't getting any indicator lights or anything. The bike was dead. After I took off the fairings I see that all the wiring is ghetto-rigged with zipties and stuff. It's sitting in the shop now. I bought the bike anyway because I managed to get the seller to lower it to 1500. I figure that after the money I spend fixing it up, it will still be waaaayyy cheaper than what its worth. Mechanically the bike is fine, but the electrical system needs an overhaul. Anybody have a 2003 stock ECU for sale? lol

with some 300 dollar new plastics "or just paint them"

you could easily get 3,500 for that bike

Yeah that's what I figure. The most expensive thing is the ecu. Brand new I've seen it for 600-900. But used I've seen it from 50-200. The regulator/rectifier I've seen for 90-150 new. So I'm still saving assuming I can get a used ecu.

Can you post some pics...

This is not a bad deal for the complete set!

for 1500 thats a helluva deal, if you do some smart shopping for the parts you need youll still be under what you can get for it, and get to know your bike that much better too..

I ended up buying an ECU for 155. I found used regulators for 50. I will try to post pics in a week or so!
