New to Motorcycles, is this a good deal on a bike?
Hey guys, I just got my motorcycle license. I'm from Miami, FL. I'm now in the market for a good used bike. I have a friend who will sell me his old f4i for $2,000. It's a 2003 CBR 600 F4i with 18k miles. The issues with it:
1. It hasn't really been ran in over a year. I started it and ran it around for about 10 minutes so I know it runs.
2. Since it hasn't really been ran, I know all the fluids need to be changed, as well as the spark plugs. The brake fluid may need to be serviced.
3. It has some rust on the exhaust, but that should be easy to take care of (I think).
4. Battery is dead. Had to jump it.
5. Its missing turn signals.
6. He stripped off all the paint and primered half the bike, but never ended up repainting it. It looks nasty and will need to be repainted. I don't mind a rattle-can job though.
Do you guys think this is a good deal? It seems like all of this will only run me a few hundred dollars at most, so I have him holding the bike for me.

F4i's can and will run forever, 18k miles is not bad at all.
-Changing all fluids (both brake systems, oil, coolant) is a must when buying and used bike IMO because you never know when it's been changed last. As well as lubing up all throttle/clutch cables and the chain.
-Dead battery is expected for a bike sitting a year. Might just need a charge if your lucky
-Turns signals are a dime a dozen online. Get the small LED kind or a flush kit. You will need them to pass inspection anyways.
-Spray can paint jobs are difficult to make look good. flat black would be easiest. or RHINO LINING!!

14 cans!! lol dpont do it too thick. that sounds like a sweet deal, if its the fusion stuff it will be easier to get to loook good. literally all u need to do to prep is rough the surface up a bit and then rub it down with some rubbing alcohol and then spray it
have fun with it and post pics!!!
