Good deal on a first bike?
Hey guys I'm looking for a first bike for someone who doesn't want to spend >2,000. I thought an F3 may be ideal. He's into honda and doesn't want a ninja 500r. He just finished his MSF course and I think he's ridden dirt bikes (not saying that counts for anything).
Would you guys consider this to be a good deal? He's going to try to haggle under to get it under 2k.
"I have a 97 cbr 600f3 forsale. It has been well taken of. Oil changed every 1500 miles with full sythetic Amsoil. The bike has 35xxx but starts runs and rides great.
It has ..a shortened D&d exhaust, frame sliders, bar ends, new 530 oring chain n sprockets, tires in good shape, comes with new brake pads. $2250 obo. "

Good luck. It appears they are asking low retail according to NADA. Average retail is $3100. If the bike is in as good a shape as they claim, then $2500 seems fair.
I guess you could always show up with $2000 in cash...that sometimes works.

Do most private sellers go by NADA rather than KBB? Although, I guess from a pure economic stand point, the bike is only worth what the market is willing to pay. KBB always seems to be lower than NADA.
