I have a F2 which is pretty much the same bike except for the ram-air, and a couple other little things, so...................Its easier if I removed the radiator. You'll have the ram-air stuff in the way. The more room you make for your hands and tools the easier it will be.

The way i do it is through the fairing. All you need is a good 5/8 spark plug socket with tight rubber inside,a short length extension and a socket wrench with no bearing in connector. The trick is in the way you insert and retract tools. First gently drop socket over plug then attach extension ,then wrench. Loosen, take off wrench, pull up on extension and seperate socket from extension with one using your fingers. Its easy once you get the hang of it and all you take off is engine compartment fairings. Remember it will be alot easier with a socket wrench with a missing lock bearing.
