You were right, mnguyen84. It was a simple problem with one of the terminals, thanks.. I fixed it this afternoon and she's running perfect now..

I do still need to deal with the original charging issue though. How much should I expect to spend on a stator if I install it myself?

Thanks everyone, for all the input/help. I appreciate it. It's so seldom we're lucky enough to find that the problem costs little or nothing! whew!

Glad everything worked out. I had the same problem 5 years ago. After getting stranded on the freeway a few times and spending hours testing wires and bypassing stuff, it turned out to be something so simple and common. Unlike your experience, I felt like an idiot afterwards.

As for the slator. Actually, a new one isn't very cheap. I guess was looking at the used ones on craiglist or something. Right now, there's a guy on ebay is selling a new for $78 + $6 shipping. You might find a better deal on a used one on the forum. There is always someone selling parts.

Yeah despite the exhaust confusion I still felt pretty stupid. It's okay, I'm happy it was a simple fix.

Wow thanks for all the help. That's actually a very reasonable price. But I've been considering doing LED in the plastics for added visibility at night; makes sense to upgrade the stator at this point, right?

Rick's Motorsport Electrics
I bought an R/R and a stator from them for a 93 VFR750 and had no issues from them. Prices for an R/R for an 01 600F4i are $120 for OEM style, $150 for one with MOSFET tech. The Stator is $140. Overall, not bad pricing compared to OEM Honda parts.
