Need Advice On New Rotors and Pads- Thx 2 Sandy
I finally got my bike out of storage since Sandy hit my area (south shor of long island). she BARELY made it, but did never the less. Water came up about a foot and a half. NO water got in engine or oil resevoir, and I thank the big man upstairs for it.
So after a week of waiting I was notified today that I need a new chain ( i asume sprockets as well), a new rear brake and brake rotor. Im not sure if its brake pads or the brake itself.
Im really strapped for cash at the moment; Sandy took a major financial toll on me. However I dom't want to cut any corners with ****ty products that could potentially kill me if they fail while im riding.
I would really appreciate some advice on an inexpensive/good value brand, website, or company that I can get a rear rotor and brakes from.
The chain I already have planned out; vortex chain.
Thanks very much in advance, I dont wanna get price gauged by the shop.

Just get the stock rotor from ebay, should run you like $50 bucks. As for brake pads, I went with the kevlars front/rear pads. Costed me about $35 bucks and works good. Changing the pads are extremely easy and shouldnt take no more then 2 hours to do both front and rear. The rotor can be switched out just as easy.

Its quite easy to see the condition before using it. Measure it to make sure it isen't below minimum thickness and then go for it. The worst that will happen is its warped and will need to be turned but that isen't dangerous.
