Default pads/rotors

Can anyone recommend a set of pads/rotors? Im familiar with the car brands (stoptech, brembo, powerslot, ebc, hawk, etc) but I dont recognize some of the names for motorcycle stuff.

I dont have any reason to believe the current rotors are warped, so im not really sure if they should be replaced anyway with the pads or not. Any tips/recommendations are welcome.

Your rotors are probably fine, I just EBC pads on my bike and they work great. I would suggest upgrading to braided brake lines though.

EBC and Galfer are good. I prefer the Galfer.

Vesrah, DP, Ferodo are other good pad manufacturers.

Because the rotors are semi-floating, you don't need to worry about mixing and matching rotors and pads as much on bikes as you do with cars...heck, not at all really.

I doubt your rotors are warped....some bikes are known for it, like my 98zx6r....but the f4 rotor goes back a long time.

Bike rotors aren't cheap throw aways like the junk on cars. NEW OEM or aftermarket price on rotorsstarts at $200 a piece.

Used OEM rotors go about 60-100 a set shipped on ebay right now. I just bought a set of F4i rotors for $52. VFR 750/800, 95-97900RR, VTR 1000,as well as F3 rotors fit the F4.

All the brands mentioned so far are good brands. But this is one case where aftermarket isn't necessarily better than OEM. The OEM brake pads are a very good pad as well. So don't think that is not an option.

I prefer the Galfer semi-metallic pads on my bike. I put new pads on my bike when I got it and I just now replced them. I got the bike in November of 2005 with 8000 miles on it. I now have 23000 miles.
