Guys,

What do you think of the following -

525 Superlite RS7 Steel Sprocket Set

AND going a -1 tooth in the front...How much difference will it make in MPG vs Acceleration gain...and overall RPM's/bike's overall performance. I am MORE focused on getting the MPGs. However, I don't mind losing 1-2 MPGs if I'll get a gain that's worth it...(compared to stock). OR I can just keep it stock, no problem! Love the bike anyway. I "need" a chain ASAP guys......so please help me.

Thanks in Advance!!!!!!!!!

You can play with sprocket changes and see what your rpm changes will be

Your one tooth difference will result in 6.7% difference overall. How you ride and your local terrain will determine your mpg. I can't see ANY reason to consider a 530 chain, the extra weight on the driveline isn't worth it unless you have HUUUUUGE horsepower. There are a lot of liter bikes that come stock with 525 chains. If anything i would use a lighter 520 conversion to save on weight. Just my opinion. Less rotating weight = quicker acceleration. Todays quality 520 chains are strong enough to handle it provided you aren't a wheelie freak.

Thanks for the help guys....

So, I would be getting ALL steel sprockets - DID, RK, or EK chain. I am also learning that the 520 conversion (with good quality chain) could last just the same as 525 (stock). Not sure which I'll get, but Im considering either type.

Only the price, and "good buy" is the next thing....Any links or vendors that have good pricing..??

Thanks again guys....

525 vs 520 chain longevity... if you're not pulling wheelies or running trackdays every weekend... 520 chain conversionn is the way to go.

520 kits cost less, weigh less, with regular maintenance likely to last just as long if not longer than 525 kit.

Keep in mind that longevity of chain and sprockets is maintenance, keep them clean and lubed, they will last.
