how do you know when to replace the chain/sprokets?
2005 cbr 600 f41 with 14,100 miles.
i just bought.
just cleaned and adjusted chain.
while adjusting it when barely into the "replace" section of the adjustment.
it there any other indicators to when a chain is becoming unsafe?
thanks for the help and sorry for my ignirance.
there are a few good write-ups on here on how...just need to know when.

Whe it comes to sprockects when uts showing lots of wear like teeth are not straight , not mych teeth
As for chain when it stretched so much that it can not be adjusted any more
Its also a good idea to check the chain once a week /fortnight depends on how much you use your bike to make sure that part of a link in the chain isnt missing and general wear and tair
If you meed any more advice just ask as I am a ex mechanic and help out at mates bike shop now and then espically this time of year

This! Also not sure if it was said already, but you should replace sprockets and chain at the same time, as they tend to wear evenly over time.

One guy i cam across uses ep80 or ep90 (gearbox oil) to lube his chain and after 3 years still has same chain and spockets but dont know what sort of mileage a year he does
It would be a messy job lubing chain with ep80/90

you replace the sprocket when you replace the chain. you replace the chain when it is loose and you can't adjust it anymore.
i use gear oil sae90 + drying teflon lube. i apply the gear oil with a toothbrush. wipe off the excess. spray on the Dupon to help the oil from flinging. it's been like 12k miles since I install the chain, and it has yet need to be adjusted.
