Guys you have no idea how much of a tremendous help you've been. I'll go ahead and pick up the Michelin Pilot Road 2. I think I'll be sporting a huge grin with this move.

A+++ on the help fellaz!

I would get 18,000+ miles out of a road2, you sure you want it? My 2ct's last about 11,000 miles in the rear and when Im done the sides are almost as low as the centers. In my opinon the normal road, power and power 2ct have no place in the lineup anymore. I went from a 2ct front [about 15,000miles between changes]to a pilot pure and its fantastic. I'll use the pure for the rear when it needs replacing too. Its just a power 2ct with larger soft zones [same coumpound harnesses] and less weight. I ask if you really want a road2 because you said you ride alot of twistys and its wet out, so wouldn't you want as much traction as you can get?

From the feedback everyone has posted, it seems like the dual compound in the Road 2 gave a good balance of "stickiness" and longevity. I know I could get really good handling out of the Powers...bcuz well...that's literally what's on the rear right now and I loved the handling, but its worn and needs changing. And I couldn't decide spending more pennies for the Road 2 or stick with the Powers. I would try Pure on the front, but the thread life would prolly disappoint me if I slapped it on the rear...don't you think?

11,000 is more then enough for a rear tire to me. The road 2 is the same coupound on the edges as the pilot power so theres really no choice between the two, the road 2 wins out. But if a 2ct can give 11,000 miles and better grip thats what I'd choose. I'd rather pay extra for the peace of mind even if I don't need it.
