Default Installed Led Blinkers, now Fast Flashing...

The rear blinkers that I installed are Led ones. Well as soon as i hooked them up they started flashing like only one of them works. Is there a resistor i should put in between or something like that to make it flash normal?

Thanks

yes, LED's have a much lower resistance than filament bulbs which pulls more current and can screw with flasher relays. you will need a set of load resistors to bring the system back into tolerances.

You'll need 2 of the ceramic type resistors -- I think they're 5 ohm / 100 watt. Wire each in parallel and it'll make the blinkers normal again. I eventually took my resistors back out -- I like the fast blinking. Cagers appear to see fast blinky things. And sometimes shiny stuff. Ohhhhh pretty shiny stuff. I hate cagers.

Yeah i found how to do it. It's actually 8ohm 20watt resistors and you wire them in parallel.

Thanks a lot guys.

Check out this online tutorial for rear taillight conversion...

http://www.biperformance.ca/tutorial.htm

It calls for two of these:

5 ohm Power Resistor, 10W Power Rating ( working in momentary overload )

Digikey.com part number: 810F5R0-ND
