Default heating fast????

I recently got an 03 f4i for my first street bike. I started riding it this week. After warming up it idles at about 1.5k. When riding it the temp. stays at right around 160-170. The other day when I got off of it I left it running in the driveway for a while and when I came out after about 4-5 minutes it was up to 220. After watching it for a little bit it got to 225 and then the fan kicked on and it went back down a little. I have read that it is normal for these bikes to get up to that temperature, my question is if its supposed to get up to that temperature that fast. Right now it is only like 50 degrees here also. I dont think there is anything wrong but I would just like a little reassurance. Thanks for any answers in advance.

Its normal. Mine heats up to that temperature in a few minutes and never goes over 225. I would say it's normal.

When it's not moving, yeah the temp can jump on all our bikes. Guys with fan problems will sometimes shut off their bikes when stuck in traffic / at lights to keep it from overheating. That's how quick it can skyrocket
