Default Over heating

My 600 f4 seams to be very touchy in daytime heat while idling. Just going through town after a couple of stop lights on a hot day and it will actually stall out. This has happened as I am gearing down for a turn off as well (when the bike is not all that warm). Any thoughts?

First of all have you checked all of your fluid levels. I know its a little thing but gotta knock those simple things out. Next would be have you messed with the timing. I know sometimes advancing the timming will over heat the engine and cause heat soak. Umm check your radiators and make sure nothing is in there clogging up. Also when it overheats is your gauge showing it?

I have checked the cooling level, it's fine... The fan does kick in but it just doesn't seam to do the job. I am thinking that it is the thermostat or a plug in the line. At a stop light it is reving pretty low around 500 rpm's and I don't know the exact temp it's not a dig display. Thanks for the info any other hints?

And the thermostat is pretty low tech and less than $30. And not hard to replace.
