i don't think you understand where i'm coming from.. I did not say anything about cutting the key hole off just leaving that upper section up to the key hole then re-locating the plate in the wheel well towards the front of the bike or off the exhaust on a hanger..

I understand Cageless, but if the fender remains from the keyhole up and you mount the plate say on the battery box, you'll hardly be able to see the plate if at all. The only way to make the plate visible while having the plate on the battery box is to have the fender completely off up to the light.

Hangfire-
Mines trimmed up pretty high. I trimmed the fender down with a dremel and used a deburring tool to make the edges look factory again, then mounted the plate right below the tail light. As for the seat release I went and bought a manual choke cable, hooked it up to the release and terminated it at a button I installed under the front seat, you can reach it by slipping your finger into the spot where the front seat bolts are, but if you don't know what your looking for you'd never find it. The whole thing turned out nice and clean and I never really liked the whole keyed entry rear seat deal to begin with.
Hangfire you're a genuis for rigging up your seat the way you did. I've got a corbin back seat on for my girlfriend and i'd be afriad that if word got out that my back seat would be easily removable that it would be stolen. I'm trying to think of a way to keep the lock working by the keyhole without drilling a hole in my plate...

Uniqsol, you really went the distance with this one!
Thanks for all the great pics and video clip.
Have you thought about removing the reflectors on each side right near the directionals? I did it and it sleeks it out even more-they're rivited in there so you have to drill them out.
Looks gret, what are you going to do with the wiring that hangs down from the blinkers?
Thanks for all the great pics and video clip.

As for the wiring that went to the plate light, I just insulated them and pushed them up into the hole they came out of...I figured if I do get hassled for not having plate lights I would like to have the wire available to put some LEDs over the plate.

Super easy.
All you need is a dremel w/ cutting and sanding accessories, a drill w/ a 1/2" bit (for key hole) and a piece of paper to make the template for the plate.
Also I used a silver sharpie to make the general guide line that I wanted to cut at.
