maybe we could put the plate in the wheel well? or how about a hanger off of the exhaust?

Yes cageless, the plate looks best on the battery box BUT you need an undertail to be able to do so because you need to relocate the keyhole somewhere...

Hangfire, your fender looks awesome!

Did you relocate the aftermarket blinkers from where the factory ones were?
About how much were those aftermarket blinkers?

Do you have more of a closer pic of your fender? Alot of questions i know but your fender is what mine is going to look like.

looks awesome---hangfires pic is also helping me decide between a carbon-fiber or stainless steel pipe.

CF is the way to go..well, I guess it depends on your color scheme. Mine is silver and black, so I have decided I want the 2Bro M5 CF. Looks and sounds awesome. Now I just need the $.

i don't think you understand where i'm coming from.. I did not say anything about cutting the key hole off just leaving that upper section up to the key hole then re-locating the plate in the wheel well towards the front of the bike or off the exhaust on a hanger..
