Get a tune up?
#2
What do you want done? A tune up would be to me oil/filter/chain tension adjustment and every 500KM or so chain lube.
A full tune up on a new to me bike would be new tires, re-bleed front and rear brakes with new fluid, coolant flush, new oil/filter, brake pad and air filter check, check the plugs, chain tension and asjutment, suspension setup.... ect
sooo..... brings me to my question. what kinda tune up is needed?

diy like eric said. Everything combat listed, except new tires, is really easy, and fun imo, to do yourself. It may require a few basic tools that most homes should have.
If you really don't want to diy, I believe each shop has a tune up fee (different depending on shop) and then they toss in the cost of whatever is needed, ie new oil/right head lamp. They'll charge you that initial tune up fee, plus the cost of the new oil/filter/lamp. I don't remember the specifics. I was dumb and didn't know anything about bikes when I brought my first bike (F2) to a shop, which cost me roughly $400 for the tune up. They fixed a clogged tube, replaced the high beam bulb, and oil/filter.

i remember the shop by me charges $85 for an oil change. then it's like $80 an hour for other work. do as much as you can yourself. the oil, spark plugs, air filter and radiator are all pretty easy and it's easier also if you do them all at the same time because you have to get through the af to get to the spark plugs and radiator easily anyways.
