front brake resevoir

I'm not sure how to read it. Should it be read between the brass looking piece and the see through plastic? If so it's really low. Or should it be read by the gaps in the brass looking piece. It would be full then. I could just open it up and see, but if it's really full I might spill some depending on how the bars are angled.
If I need to add more I don't need to bleed right?
Thanks!
It's full right now. That brown stuff is your brake fluid, buddy. It needs to be above the LOWER mark (the bar below the LOWER), which it is. If you need to add more, you don't need to bleed. Be careful with the brake fluid though. If it's left on your plastics, it'll destroy it. Clean it up immediately if spilled.
Thanks. I was looking at my rear resevoir and it's right at the lower mark. It looks as if I have to un mount the resevoir to take the cap off. Any tips on how not to spill any? O should I just have a friend hold it?
When you have air in the lines. You'll know when you pull the lever or pedal and it brakes a little then the pedal or lever moves further, but not braking and then starts to brake again.
Your supposed to bleed/replace fluid every 2yrs. I just did mine since the bike is an 02 and it improved feel. Improved feel so much that i squeezed a bit too hard on the highway and hurtdez nutz.
