Default f4i...worth it?

im just now getting back into the bike world after crashing my R6 last year and i was wondering if the f4i is really worth getting. i keep reading about all these problems with fuel, cct, electrical, and so on. for a thousand bucks more i could just get another R6 but i want to try honda out this time. opinions?

lol i know i know f4i sections gonna say go f4i. i like the f4i, its a good bike for the price and its a honda, i just dont want to get somethin thats going to have problems all the time (again, just going from what im reading.) iv just never had a problem with my r6 and thats one of the things i read about alot with the f4i. but if you broke down the facts of it, which bike would be more dependable?

I have an '01 and it has been super dependable. I know it seems like they have a lot of quirks but for the money I don't think you can go wrong. I've been on a couple different r6's and they obviously have a more aggressive stance and ride than the f4i but as soon as you ride an F4i you'll notice the bonuses. A more comfortable riding stance around town is a huge plus, but it doesn't hinder you in the corners.

F4i's are solid machines. I have had 2 with no problems ever. There is a guy on here, thirdgen, that has over 100,000 miles.

the cct is a common issue, but very easy to fix.

and really the CCTL problem does not cause anything other then an annoying noise problem...not sure what these fuel or electrical problems you speak of are....I have NEVER had a problem.

keep in mind that by browsing this forum you are seeing the people who are here to get help with a problem... a small percentage of F4i riders in that regard.

I beat on my bike in my attempt to reasonably maintain it and I have never had a problem with it besides it not starting once (right out of winter storage).

I would say with proper maintenance all late model bikes are good. I love the F4i but the RR is the future so take your pick.

there is a member on this form that has driven his F4i over 100,000 kms ( or miles cant remember ! video is on youtube )
The F4i is my first bike and i love it.

I think some one else touched on it , but this forum is great for help and trouble shooting, thats why you see a a lot of posts regarding problems. the site is like having an online mechanic.

( altho not many people use the search function ! )[sm=icon_sneaky.gif]
