f4i...worth it?
thenewuser - let me just say this about the f4is reliability... last winter, I didnt prep my bike for storage at all (long story, a highside and dead battery were involved)... full tank of gas and everything. I put a new battery in it this spring and it started up first try with no problems, plugs werent fouled, it ran fine on the 8-month old gas in the tank, etc.
Ive beat the crap out of mine and it still runs like a champ
I say go with an f4i... I promise youll fall in love

I wouldnt mind having an f41, but only the 01-03. I like the split seat ones. Theyre great bikes...go for it

But lets remember that IF he finds a newer 04-07 F4i for the right price. He can always change the subframe out to an 01-03 and he'll have the split seats on a newer bike....Nothing wrong with that at all.....=-)
Just over 133,000 miles on my F4i in 3 years and 10 months and it's still kicking like a bat outta hell!
Still solid as a rock, and runs and rides like a new bike. Didn't have my first serious problem until 115k when it started jumping out of 3rd gear. Previous to that, only things that ever broke were the clutch cable at 65k, regulator/rectifier at 100k, CCT at 32k, and a couple warped front brake rotors. Seriously, the F4i is probably one of the toughest bikes out there. I can't even tell you how many people I've talked to that have beat on them at the track and whatnot, and just kept saying "man those bikes are straight up indestructable!". That's also why the stunters love them so much... they're like a tank!
The CCT is really the only common issue with the F4i, and that's an easy fix. It's probably one of the best "all around" sportbikes you can get... a jack of all trades, of sorts. If you're thinking about it, go for it.... GREAT bikes, you won't regret it

Reaper, Damn U. Now U go and change your bike when I decided to change mine. And after I complemented you on how your's looked like mine.
So, is that the same plastic or new stuff? How long did yours take? Mine is taking longer than expected.
