there is a member on this form that has driven his F4i over 100,000 kms ( or miles cant remember ! video is on youtube )
The F4i is my first bike and i love it.
I think some one else touched on it , but this forum is great for help and trouble shooting, thats why you see a a lot of posts regarding problems. the site is like having an online mechanic.
( altho not many people use the search function ! )[sm=icon_sneaky.gif]

ah i dont really see myself getting bored of it, reason i was considering the f4i was because of the crash i had with my R6. i want a more comfortable bike around town that still has the power, im not into stuntin or canyon carving as much anymore. id say with the replies iv gotten from you guys is convincing enough to purchase an f4i. thanks for the help
it is worth it! and i love my f4i. I liked them before i got my bike! And to Norider yes its the tip sensor at the top! you can unbolt it and put it on and it will still start
there are alot of noobs here like me that dont know whats going on. these bikes are very dependable honda has been making bikes since the dawn of time!

Gotta love the F4i. I've never really had any issues with my bike. I don't know why other people do, although I bet they may have issues because the bike was previously abused or something. Can't really say anything bad about the F4i.

Edit: Your friendly Yamaha site had this to offer, good luck on your choice, either bike would fit your needs.

Hey, I have had a 2000 R6 and now a 2001 F4i. First, please remember to compare apples to apples as far as age and mileage.
To compare, the R6 is more aggressive and feels smaller/lighter than the F4i, but not as solid. The F4i is a solid bike that requires very little mtnce. My bike has over 20K on it now and runs like new.
The CCTL is not an issue really, it's a $60 part and is more annoying than damaging... not sure what Electrical and Fuel issues you are referring to, but every bike has similar problems.
Everyone was bitching about the "2nd gear" issue on the R6 when I had mine, although I never experienced it. Basically 2nd gear was going out on a lot of bikes and people were getting pissed at Yamaha.
The way the two bikes look is pretty different and the F4i looks antiquated to me, but that's all personal preference.

I think you can maneuver both the same in any situation once you are used to the bike. It's hard to describe, but I feel like you can hardly tell the bike is there when you are on the R6, it feels like you are one with the bike. I don't get that feeling so much with the F4i. By solid, I mean the F4i feels bigger/heaver/smoother... like when you shut the car door on a really nice car compared to a cheap one.
Well lets try it this way.....Are u looking for a great bike thats comfortable, fun and handles very good. Or are u looking for a bike thats uncomfortable as ***, fast, and handles like chit (until you get a steering damper).....OK now thats the F4i compared to RR's and those little Slozuki Gixxers (Fixxers, as i like to call them)......I have an 03 954RR and my ole lady as an 01 F4i......IMO, i can have 4x's as much fun on her F4i (with my experience on the 1K's). Because i know the 600 is more than enough bike for 90% of the people that ride streets. And i know the F4i is comfortable as hell and handles just as good as my 954RR does with a Scotts damper............So now i guess its all in what you want.....=-)
PS: If u wanna be like everybody and their momma, go buy a Gixxer, LMAO....=-)
