With mine I have to leave the two bolt/pins at the rear of the tank a little bit loose so the seat can get down in that bracket real good. I'd take the seat off and loosen up all the tank bolts then fit the seat and see where everything needs to be before you start tightening stuff down. Tighten bolts one at a time to see which one(s) are causing your issue.

You did the split seat conversion correct?
The front of the seat should have a plastic "hook" that inserts into the metal clip on your gas tank that's attached by two bolts. That plastic tab inserts btwn the tank & underside of that clip, securing it.
Insert that front plastic hook into the clip first. Once in, push down on back of seat. May take a little wobble to get it go.
