Sweet. What kind of race fairings are those. I have to shoot my Formula1Composites fairings eventually. I haven't even fitted them yet except for the tail. You just doing a stock scheme or a reg. track day black lower?

They are Cheetah Racing Bodies. One of the bodywork companies I carry in the shop. I have the Upper Race, Lower Race, and Supersport Tail.

I wanted to go with something simple that will kinda match my stock silver tank. So I am going with silver Upper, Tail, and front fender with a black lower....

Its the first time for me to paint these so I also thought the silver and black would be easy colors to do and not notice any mistakes. As well as I wanted the bike to match my website colors of black, silver, and red. I have accent pieces on the bike in red...like pazzo levers and a few other things.

Here is a pic of them fitted on the bike before I fitted the Puig and cut out the frame sliders....

Lookin' good. I just went thru that with mine. The body work looks just like the crap-*** Hotbodies i put on mine. One thing i noticed on yours is the lower has a cut out to cool the headers and let in air to keep the bodywork from getting too hot.
This weekend at Buttonwilllow i came in after about 4 laps into my first session with the lower bodywork smoking ! The fiberglass was like putty down low from the heat off the exhaust. Had to hog out some holes right behind the front wheel to let air in ! Friggin' hotbodies crap ![:@]

Anyway, this was my first paint job too.

LOL in painting solid black and metallic silver are like the hardest colors every and show every mistake you make in painting. but thats only ifyou are going for the pefect paint job. But its the prep work that makes everything look good. Cheetah Fiberglass is pretty good. I have a track day upper that bolts onto the stock sides that i sheared in half at my last crash but its totally still repairable and i will do exactly that and sell it off.

off topic: pazzo levers are awesome. I got a set of them about 2 months ago and I wish I bought them like 3 years ago. They just have great feel to them.

Well that shows how much I know about painting....haha....The silver you cant see anything bad but the black definately shows ripples and what not from the fiberglass not being perfect. Oh well next time I will know this and choose differently possibly....

Tori....cool looking paint job. I like it. I would have liked to tape off and make a decent design but figured with it being my first try I should just get the basics down before I do something like that. Very cool.

You got a pic of the holes you drilled for air to the headers? I hope I dont have to do that but can see how it could happen.

Jumpman,........ you wont have to drill any holes. Your lower has that nice big cut out section below the radiator. Mine didn't have that and was solid right up to the bottom of the radiator.

**you wouldn't want to the see the holes i drilled. LOL (trackside butchery with the wrong tools.) It will clean up though with a dremel
